Mom, you know I love you…right?
February 25, 2013 in Kidlet & Me, Tashism
The title of this post were the first words out of Tash’s mouth when I collected her from school.
Of course, it’s tough to capture her actual tone here but it was that tone that us parents know means ‘I really want something.’ You know it right?
She started to unfold a piece of paper and my first thought was ‘Oh no! A concern letter from the Vice Principal.’
“Wait! First tell me how your assessments went?”
“They were fine. Easy.” She smiled and I caught a mischievous glint in her eye as I stopped at an intersection.
Sjoe, I thought. Not a concern letter then. I mentally relaxed. Here’s what was on the paper and the reason for the impish behaviour.
My mom is great
My mom is kind
She’s the one
Always on my mind. She loves me to bits
I say I love her more
But she says it back
And we start a love war. She’s the best of the rest
She’s always takes care of
Me when I am sick
And when I have ice-cream
I let her have a lick.So I made this poem
Especially for her
My question is
May we go to Spur?
If it weren’t for assessment week I reckon I would have succumbed to that cleverly worded request.

Special reward to her for saying “may we” instead of “can we”. She has English skills!

Haha my years of saying ‘I’m sure you can. May you is the question.”
