Dogs can go to daycare too

March 26, 2013 in Uncategorized

1-year-old Philly with his birthday cupcake

My aunt recently let us know that since their puppy, Philly (picture above), was getting too rowdy for their older dog, Astro, to handle he has been booked into puppy daycare twice a week. That’s right. Puppy daycare. A full day from 7am to 5:30pm.

Passion for Pets Daycare offers a full acre for dogs to play in, training and petsitting. They even have a doggy bakery that makes treats like cakes, cupcakes and biscuits!

Want to know the best part about doggy daycare? Every day from 12 to 2pm, the dogs have to nap in a lounge just for them with their own pillows and a TV. Plus, they’re not allowed to bring any toys from home because just like kids, they may fight.

Adorable!

Awesome dad hacks Donkey Kong for his daugther

March 11, 2013 in Uncategorized

And the whole world said “awwwww”.

Out of my family of 5, the only gamers are my brother and I. I think that’s why this story gets my heart pumping custard. According to The Verge “when Mike Mika saw the disappointment on his daughter’s face when she realized Pauline wasn’t a playable character in Donkey Kong, he felt a call to action.”

I love it. His little girl wanted to be Pauline the rescuer. Not Pauline the damsel in distress.

I salute you, awesome dad Mike Mika!

The most disturbing anti-drug PSA

March 6, 2013 in Uncategorized

The grainy footage, the creepy song – everything about this public service announcement (which was pulled from TV in 1974) is very disturbing. It definitely would’ve stopped me from taking drugs. Thanks, @kate_thompsonsa!

Would you show something like this to your kids to scare them off of drugs?

“Pregnant” dads strike a pose

January 31, 2013 in Uncategorized

If beer and sausage sandwiches were babies

If beer and sausage sandwiches were babies

This is probably one of the most hilarious and disturbing images I’ve ever seen. I can’t help but love what these guys have done though.

Look at their faces and the “gentle” poses! It’s fantastic how they’ve mimicked the popular mommy-to-be photo shoot poses.

I can’t find where this originally came from but apparently it had something to do with Australia Day. The image is called “If beer and sausage sandwiches were babies” which is even funnier.

I have to wonder, would you dads-to-be do something like this?

Kids: They’re ridiculously cute

November 28, 2012 in Uncategorized

Finally, a kiddie update! Luke and Amy are becoming these amazing little people! Their personalities are developing, their vocabularies are expanding and they are still great kids.

Thought I’d share some photos of the kiddies seeing as you guys haven’t seen them in a while.

Luke got his Playball certificate this morning and as you can see, he’s very proud!

My willing little model, Amy. :) It’s almost her birthday. On the 22nd of December she’ll be 3!

Amy’s first hair cut!

“Fixing” my hair. ;)

And there they are! Cute, right? :)

Little Miss Attitude

Amy wearing my Uggs

Amy wearing my Uggs

Amy will be 3 years old in December, but boy does she have an attitude on her! Not an attitude that makes her a horrible little girl but she knows exactly what she wants (or doesn’t want).

She also knows how to speak her mind. Plus she’s not afraid to tell Luke (who is well over 4 years old) where to get off when he irritates her.

I know exactly where she gets it from. Amy comes from a long line of hardcore women. And proudly so.

Who knows, maybe little Amy will soften as she gets older but I doubt it. Especially when she tells Luke to “stop crying like a baby”. At least I know she won’t let anyone walk all over her. :)

Do your toddlers have huge personalities already? What do they get up to? Tell me, I want to know.

Also, have you guys seen this story about Bumbo recalling 4.6 million of their seats due to reports of skull fractures? Pretty crazy!

And lastly, here’s a funny photo of Luke eating a GIANT scone. The kid loves scones.

Happy birthday, Dad!

August 2, 2012 in Uncategorized

It’s my dad’s 62nd birthday today! Yup, he’s getting old. ;)

Grandpa and his grandkids

Grandpa and his grandkids

Fun fact about my parents and their birthdays:

My dad has a twin so I always need to remember to wish my uncle for his birthday too. I often have to be reminded because we don’t see him often…

My mom does not have a twin but her youngest sister (my mom is the oldest) was born on the same day as her. So I have to wish my aunt on my mom’s birthday too.

That’s weird, right? I think it’s pretty cool.

Anyway, hope you guys have a fabulous Thursday. Bye!

Amy’s got Attitude

July 18, 2012 in Uncategorized

Amy may only be 2 and a half years old but she has major attitude when she feels like it.

Yesterday, Amy’s older brother, Luke was laying on the bed next to my dad and for one or another reason, he was moaning.

Amy was sitting on a chair at the end of the bed watching TV.

My father, having had enough of Luke’s moans told him to stop it. Not shouting. Just stern.

Without even turning to look at him Amy pipes up. “Grandpa! What are you doing to my Lutie (Lukie)?!” And that was it.

Needless to say after a little stunned silence, there was laughter.

She’s a gem that one.
